If you fail to secure your tribe within the boundaries of your new home and advance time at all you can end up with only one member left in your clan (or up to three if you had children riding piggyback). You can then more easily navigate to them. When you focus on the diamonds with a question mark in them that denote undiscovered landmarks, they’ll turn into downward-pointing triangles which will remain visible outside of intelligence mode.
These discoveries can also become new homes for your tribe if you so desire, but to claim them as a new settlement, you’ll need to be ready for quite the undertaking. These points of interest can be used as landmarks to help you navigate, as there’s no mini-map in the game.
When you first start exploring your surroundings in Ancestors, you’ll see diamonds with question marks in them signifying scenic locations.
